Heimlich maneuver

Ms. Zhang said that in the evening she was going to take her son to take a taxi to class. When she was stopping the car, her son suddenly shouted: "Mom, my throat is stuck!" gram first aid for my son.

"He was still able to speak, but I gradually lost my strength, so I shouted 'help' to passersby." Ms. Zhang said that she knew Heimlich Maneuver, but maybe because of her nervousness and her clothes were too thick, He is too small to be able to perform first aid. In order to seek help, she hurriedly carried her child to a crowded convenience store to continue asking for help.

Ms. Zhang said that Mr. Xie, a neighbor, helped him. With his help, the child spit out a candy. Later, she expressed her gratitude to Mr. Xie in the owner group.

The reporter contacted Mr. Xie. He works in the provincial drug supervision system. He said that his unit often trains employees in the Heimlich First Aid, so he quickly implements first aid according to the knowledge he has learned.

Heimlich maneuver

Jiang Jinfeng, director of the emergency department of a hospital in Fuzhou City, introduced that when a child has a foreign body stuck in the throat, a laryngeal obstruction, and hypoxia such as suffocation, irritability, and cyanosis, the precious rescue time is only 5 minutes. Parents should call the emergency number 120 as soon as possible, and use the Heimlich manoeuvre while waiting for the rescuers to arrive.

The Heimlich maneuver is a first aid method that "uses the residual gas in the lungs to form an airflow to flush out foreign objects". For infants and young children, try the commonly used back percussion technique, with the infant's body astride the forearm on the rescuer's side, face down. One hand of the rescuer supports the child's head and neck, and the palm of the other hand slaps between the two shoulder blades on the child's back. Repeat this several times until the foreign body is discharged.

For adults, the rescuer should stand behind the patient, hold the abdomen from behind, and wrap the arms around the waist and abdomen. The rescuer makes a fist with one hand, presses the center of the fist inward between the patient's navel and ribs, and presses the palm of the other hand over the fist. Quickly squeeze inwards and upwards with both hands, and repeat until the obstruction is spit out.
